Greed

This is an old story and a little humorous:
One day Abraham Lincoln was walking down the street with two small boys who were both crying loudly.
A neighbor passing by inquired, “What’s the matter, Abe? Why all the fuss?”
Lincoln responded, “The trouble with these lads is what’s wrong with the world; one has a nut and the other wants it!”
But it illustrates a big problem and the oldest one known to man -- greed.

Do you have enough nice pictures?

Have you ever wonder what will happen to you after your passing to the afterlife? Is there really a new world at the other side of the rainbow?

I have been thinking over this question lately, wondering if my times is up...
I always have this thought whenever the pain came back and haunt me, silly me.

Somehow, at the midst of my grey grey world, some light shed upon me through a movie & a song.

"Like you come to the island and had a holiday. Sun didn't burn you red-red, just brown. You sleep and no mosquito bite you. But the truth is, it bound to happen if you stay long enough. So take that nice picture you got in your head home with you, but don't be fooled... If we're lucky, maybe, we got some nice pictures to take with us."

Yes, how true... Every face we see and meet is a memory.
In life we are bound to have our ups and downs, therefore each picture may not be a perfect memory. But the important bit is, we can choose to remember the good part, the beautiful moment of everyone you've come across.

If this is the last moment of your life, do you have enough nice pictures with you?
For that matter, did YOU and ME have our nice picture taken together? I hope we did =)
Don't wait until it's too late.

Chicago The Musical

It was suppose to be a happy and exciting Friday...

Had a really busy day, hardly have time to even complete one meal...
Morning - as usual, woke up late since there is no agenda in the morning... Hehe :p
After the brunch, which I didn't manage to finish, no appetite... Sent mom to Maybank to pay some bills.
Then we went down to KL Town, to look for the Izzi Mobile Broadband office at Raja Chulan... Am so lost out there... But really thanks to FF for the direction, if it has to depend on my own... maybe until cow come home also won't be able to find it =.=!
But due to the delay, really wasted lots of time, and my mom was complaining all the way in the car... And I snap :(
Sigh! Me...

Then tabau chicken rice for our lunch, mom finished it in the car already cos she was really starving.
And I don't have time to finish my packet of rice because I need to get change and rush to Eastin Hotel to meet my new boss and the other colleagues.

So, I reached there at 4.15pm, and meet up with my manager Peter for the first time.
My manager look like a rock star with his blonde pony tail, almost as along as my hair... :p
But he is a nice guy, so far... Hehe!
Then the boss that hired me - Constantine, and the old friend Raiko who recommend me to the company came down to join us in the lobby.
Being the only yellow skin there... was very nervous all the way... Keke!

Time flies, the last time I've seen Raiko, it was already 3-4 years ago, when I was in ST for the Adv Diploma internship.
But he hasn't change much, still so bubbly and cheerful, meeting him again really remind me of those good old days working as an intern in ST.

And I really like my new boss, he is like those very warm and kind old gentlemen in the story that we often heard of ^.^

Then Constantine suggested to have our first get together session tonight - to watch the Chicago Musical in KL Convention Centre... Yoohooo!!
Not only a great opportunity to catch the musical, but the best seat we booked! What a luxury... I never thought I could afford things like this in my life... Thank you Constantine and of course my dear God =)

We yak there for about an hour, then I have to rush home to bathe and change to get ready for the show.

So I was home, bathed and only have time to eat half of my dinner, then have to start panicking because I can't seems to get any cab for me to go to KLCC.
It was already 7.25pm =.=* and I suppose to be there before 8pm.
Finally dad got home at 7.30pm, so asked him to send me to the bus stop at the main road to get a cab.
I was praying very hard all the way so that I will be able to reach there on time...
Tada! Thank God again, I managed to get to the Planery Hall at 7.58pm! Kakakaka ^.^

Hmmm... Nice show.... Hehehe! ^.^
I like the Amos guy, and of course, the good looking lawyer Billy...
Will get hold of the Chicago movie DVD one day to see what is the difference between the show and the musical.

The show end at 10.45pm and my car is not here yet, so I walked around for a while and waited at the Mandarin Oriental hotel lobby... This is the second time I've been there I think...
Got a liltle bit bored and took out my SE Z520i, took a few snap shot at the lobby, no fun at all with the 0.3 VGA camera... Haha! :p

So decided to rest my eyes a bit and wait...

He reached at 11.30pm I think, can't keep track of the time already cos really tired and hungry.
Then we went to Jalan Alor for makan, don't know why no appetite even though am actually very hungry...
After the supper, was looking for a place to chill out. Drive around KL a while, can't seems to find a suitable spot because most of those places are kinda noisy...

So we went to Kepong, found a cozy cafe there.
But something disturbing things happened.... Sigh!
What a night... Am very disappointed with myself.
God is being so good to me, but yet I failed Him badly. Human being and our sinful nature... =(

Time for me to ponder to find my way back to Him.

Random thoughts on Week 28 & 29 (YR2007)

Hmmm... It had been a while since I updated the blog... So this post gonna be long ^.^
Reason?? Simply because I had been really buzy... Working hard ( to clear my outstanding workload, I'm 2 weeks behind schedule =.=* ) and playing hard ( "Girls just wanna fun" background music playing... =p )

Lots of things had been happening for the past 2 weeks... mostly are the unfortunate one... Haha!
But I still believe that everything happens for a reason, and may God continue to enlighten me to be able to see it through.

Wed (11/7) - My tummy is not behaving well that day, start to feel the pain since mid night and it got worse in the morning. But I still wanted to go to work, hopelessly stiffneck I am. I just do not know what else I can do even if I stay home...
And finally I've decided to call it a day before lunch hour - after I already can't tahan & go puke in the water closet... Then went to see doctor at Mid Valley - he said most possible cause is "mild food poisoning".
Whatever... as long as I get my MC... Ha! Thank God for the sickness so that I may rest.
Had lunch with Lydia & Amilia, it was a good time spent together. Then went to shopping with BiBi for PCW ingredients, the pain subsided as I went shopping, haha! Shopping-theraphy is still the best medicine! =p

Fri (13/7) - "有曱甴!!!"
Cockroach in my pants, arrggggggggggh!!
What a scary morning =.=* It crawl onto my hand from my jeans when I was about to tug in my leg...
Then had a human vs cockroach war declared in my room. Have to make sure that darn thing died before I leave my sweet home. Almost crying already! But no choice, gotta fight on to protect my home land... +.+

Sat (14/7) - Yes, that PCW saturday! I bang my dear Kelissa, the poor car had just celebrate its 1 yr old birthday 2 mths ago. Didn't take any picture of my car after the accident(s) @.@
But maybe it's better that way, so that when I get back my car, I can totally erase this incident from my mind... Haha, denial...
But some good things happened along the way too.
Kinda moved by my friend's kind act, he offer to fetch me back to church, as he was very worry over my "ability to drive" after what had happened... Haha! Maybe more like the fear that i will become a threat to all the other road users... Anyway, thank you 福忠! ^.^
And yes!! Our Turkish Cuisine, it was really impressive!! Hehe, kinda proud of what we've managed to deliver. Not forgetting the superb Turk Tent set up by Nigel & team. It was real good =)
And hey! I didn't lose my temper during PCW at all! Haha, which amazes a lot of people >.<> lunch (KFC then Secret Recipe) > BiBi's hse > Times Square > dinner > MBO Galaxy Ampang =.=*
Watched Transformers for the 2nd time, actually only watch 50% of the show, cos I was sleeping half the time... Ha! Wasted the ticket sponsored by David M.

And I wanted to express my sincere gratitude toward the names listed below for providing me transport to work & back home this week:

MON > Ernest & Wee Jin
TUE > Adam & Wee Jin
WED > Chee Wah & Eddie
THU > 哥哥 & 福忠
FRI > Chee Wah & ?? (may God provide...)

Thank God for providing so many kind souls by my side =)

And the thought that hit me most this week is on Isaiah 6:8

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

I read this during one of my QT last week, and it was also my "Verse of the Day" 2 days later. It really hit me because it got me to question myself - will I be able to be like Isaiah, to tell God "Here I am, send me!" when there is a calling to do His will?
Help me, Lord...

And I also read a DCQ posted at a friend's blog, it is one of my favorite quote too.
She posted the quote & some sharing from one of my forwarded DCQ email. And as I read it now, it encourages me in return, God really work in miraculous way =)

Waiting for God means power to do nothing save under command. This is not lack of power to do anything. Waiting for God needs strength rather than weakness. It is power to do nothing. It is the strength that holds strength in check. It is the strength that prevents the blundering activity which is entirely false and will make true activity impossible when the definite command comes.
~ G. Campbell Morgan ~

How true...
Isaiah 40:31

Rebellious heart in me...

In the final analysis our greatest problem with holiness is not that our concepts of holiness are feeble, but that our hearts are rebellious. We are selfish, that's our problem. And the fact that we often won't admit our selfishness shows how deep the pride goes.
~ Floyd McClung ~

Unwillingness to accept God's "way of escape" from temptation frightens me - what a rebel yet resides within. The same thought I echoed with Mr Jim Elliot...
